Promising cooperation: HP's white Multi Jet Fusion printing now available at PROTIQ
HP's Multi Jet Fusion technology has already caused quite a stir in the world of 3D printing. It is known for its high component quality, high throughput and low unit costs. However, one gap remained: white components could not be produced until now. Colouring in light shades was therefore only possible to a limited extent. The introduction of the new 5420W machines from HP has fundamentally changed this.
In a pilot project with PROTIQ, an expert in additive manufacturing and operator of the PROTIQ Marketplace, this innovative technology is now being put through its paces and actively integrated into production processes. With the ability to achieve consistent and uniform white from the first to the last MJF part, PROTIQ remains true to its high production standards while setting new standards in terms of production speed. The components from the new HP system are characterised by outstanding durability and surface quality and can be excellently coloured after the production process.
"The production of white MJF components in technical quality opens doors for a wide range of applications in various industries, such as medical technology, eyewear and household appliances," explains Johannes Lohn, Head of Development, Marketing and Sales at PROTIQ. "This development not only expands our product range, but also improves the rapid availability of functional and, above all, filigree components and grid structures."
The HP 3D High Reusability PA 12 W (colloquially known as PA12 White) developed for Multi Jet Fusion technology enables the production of parts with particularly high density, balanced properties and outstanding dimensional stability. In addition, the new technology ensures high reproducibility with a reusability of up to 75% of the excess powder, which leads to optimised costs with high part quality and makes an important contribution to sustainability in additive manufacturing.
HP's Multi Jet Fusion technology offers the optimal balance between performance and reusability. This is a significant advance, especially for industries that require high dimensional accuracy, fine detail, fast availability and optimal mechanical properties.
"This partnership with PROTIQ and the implementation of the 5420W Jet Fusion printer allows us to continue pushing the boundaries of 3D printing," adds Raffi Beglarian, HP 3D Print Regional Sales Manager. "It is a significant step forward in offering innovative and versatile solutions to new customers."
