Franken Guss, an expert in the field of selective laser beam melting, is now offering a new material on the PROTIQ Marketplace: StrengthAl, an advanced aluminium alloy. This high-performance material is a game changer in additive manufacturing and outperforms conventional 7000 wrought alloys.

Unique to StrengthAl is its resistance to hot cracking, resulting in increased print density. StrengthAl's impressive properties, such as high yield strength and elongation at break, are due in part to the element scandium in the alloy. This combination of properties makes StrengthAl ideal for demanding applications in the aerospace, racing and leisure industries, where lightweight constructions are already setting new standards.

Compared to common alloys such as AlSi10Mg, StrengthAl is characterised by superior yield strength and ductility. These properties predestine the alloy for applications where a combination of strength and lightness is crucial.
