Support material

In some additive manufacturing processes (e.g., FDM or SLA), structures are needed to support the object during manufacturing to prevent deformation of the material that has not yet been fully hardened. The support is removed manually after production. In processes such as selective laser sintering, no supporting structures are required since components are supported by the surrounding powder.
