Prototyping

A prototype is a simplified but functioning experimental model that is used as a visual aid or for test purposes. 3D printing processes facilitate fast and easy production of mechanically durable samples or master models. Prototyping using additive production processes (rapid prototyping) is also cost-effective, meaning that it can be used in various development phases. Functioning elements such as film hinges and snap-in hooks can also be included in the model. The development time from the idea to readiness for series production (time to market) can be reduced significantly by additive manufacturing.
