Printing temperature

The printing temperature is the specific temperature required to heat the material for extrusion during 3D printing. This temperature enables optimum viscosity of the material so that it can be extruded evenly and precisely through the nozzle.

Each material used in 3D printing, whether PLA, ABS or another special filament, has a specific optimum printing temperature. This is often specified by the manufacturer and varies depending on the physical properties of the material.

Setting the correct printing temperature is crucial for the quality of the print as well as the adhesion of the individual layers, the strength and the surface characteristics of the final object. Too low a temperature can lead to blockages in the nozzle and weak layer adhesion, while too high a temperature makes the material too fluid and reduces printing precision.
