Print speed

Print speed is the rate at which a 3D printer applies material to the build platform to create an object. It determines how quickly each section of material is extruded and movement along the axes is performed.

A faster print speed can reduce the overall time it takes to print an object, but it can affect the quality and detail of the final print. Conversely, a slower print speed produces more detailed and accurate results, but is often accompanied by a longer print time.

The optimal print speed depends on several factors, including material type, nozzle diameter and desired object quality. The print speed is usually specified in millimetres per second (mm/s) and can be adjusted depending on the printer and project.
