Filament

General term for thread-like plastic materials based on ABS or PLA, which are processed in the 3D printing processes fused deposition modeling (FDM) and fused filament fabrication (FFF). A granular base material is melted with the additives required to make the filaments. In the process, moisture and air is attracted from the mixture to prevent air bubbles forming in the product. The material is fed out of the extruder in various diameters through a nozzle and it is then cooled evenly. The filament is sold wound on coils.
