Component post-processing

Component post-processing, also known as post-processing, refers to the various steps that are carried out after 3D printing an object in order to improve its final quality and functionality. These processes are essential as they optimize the surface texture, aesthetics and mechanical properties of the part. Common techniques include sanding to smooth rough surfaces and correct imperfections and polishing to create a glossy finish and increase the durability of the material. Further steps such as painting and coating serve to protect the component from external influences and enhance its appearance. Joining is often used for more complex designs to connect several printed elements into a functional unit. Through this careful post-processing, experts ensure that the end product meets the requirements and can be used optimally both functionally and aesthetically.
