Binder jetting

An additive production process that is similar to inkjet printing. As with selective laser sintering (SLS), a powdery material is used in thin layers applied to a build platform. At the next stage, however, it is not melted but glued in place with a liquid binding agent. This binding agent is sprayed by the print head onto the CAD-based coordinates. With binder jetting, plastic, metal and ceramic can be processed equally effectively. Depending on the base material used, follow-up treatment by sintering, infiltration or curing may be necessary.
