Multi Jet Fusion – Now available on the PROTIQ Marketplace
The speed of development in additive manufacturing continues unchecked. New technologies and innovative manufacturing processes offer ever more sophisticated and economical production options. To ensure that our customers benefit from technical progress in 3D printing, we stay on top of things: the marketplace participant FKM is now offering the option of producing 3D objects using the new Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) process.
Compared to the established powder-based 3D printing processes (selective laser melting and laser sintering), Multi Jet Fusion takes an entirely different approach: instead of working with directional laser technology, with MJF the powder is melted by means of large-area infrared radiation and the targeted use of two binder fluids. The approach shortens the sequence of individual production steps, considerably reducing processing time. This lowers the cost of machine operation and, in turn, the cost per unit of the end product.
Christian Blöcher, Managing Director of FKM, has high expectations of his latest investment: “Innovation spirit is essential for achieving long-term success in our industry. And with the introduction of the still very young Multi Jet Fusion technology, we are taking another step forward.” In addition to economical production, the customer is ultimately looking for component quality - and this has convinced Blöcher: “We have already completed various successful tests with the system and are now looking forward to implementing challenging projects with our customers.”
The growth of our product range is keeping up with growth in the industry as a whole. You can now test the new Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing process on the PROTIQ Marketplace.
