It will therefore be possible to fulfil customer wishes which go beyond the possibilities of traditional toolmaking.

Whether it’s drilling, milling, lathing or tensioning – with more than 47,000 articles and a wide range of services, tool distributor Sartorius always ensures that its customers receive problem-free service. With around 200 employees, the company, which has existed for 135 years, generates an annual turnover of a good 50 million euros. These are numbers which indicate outstanding customer satisfaction. Amongst other factors, this success is due to continued development and open communication with the client concerning their wishes.

Now, the customer also wishes to use the full potential of new technologies for its development – and has found the right partner to do so in PROTIQ. In addition to the existing services in relation to machine tools, Sartorius GmbH & Co. KG has increased its service provision to include the 3D printing service offered by PROTIQ. Sartorius’ clients will now be able to access the services of the PROTIQ Marketplace via the online shop.

As a result of the collaboration, both PROTIQ and Sartorius will be in a position to tap into new sectors: in toolmaking and mechanical engineering, more and more individual and complex special tools are required for production which are not available on the marketplace in this format. Traditional toolmaking has hit its limits, particularly with more complex geometry – limits which additive manufacturing can overcome with the help of tool-free layer manufacturing in a revolutionary manner. It doesn’t matter if it’s a standard tool or an individual special tool – as a result of the partnership with PROTIQ, Sartorius customers now have a contact partner for every situation.
